Permanent fall protection

Permanent fall protection systems enable fall-protected ascent and descent to any height and depth on installed vertical ladders or movement of surfaces with a fall hazard on horizontal systems. Personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPEgA) can be attached to permanently mounted anchor points.

The anchor point

Personal protective equipment can be attached to an anchor point in accordance with EN 795. There are different types of anchor points, which can vary depending on the fastening option and existing structure.

The lanyard

A suitable lanyard is used to connect the harness to an anchor point. Lanyards include, for example, energy absorber lanyards (EN 355), guided type fall arresters (EN 353-1/2) or retractable type fall arresters (EN 360).

The full body harness

Full body harnesses offer different numbers of anchorage points with which the person to be secured can secure himself to a suitable anchorage point via a lanyard. In this way, the person is protected from falling or possible injury consequences in the event of a fall are reduced.


TOP principle

    Technical measures (e.g. nets, railings, scaffolding, etc.)
    Organizational measures (e.g. prohibition of work)
    Personal measures (e.g. PPE)

PPE is therefore required when there is no other means of fall protection when working in areas where there is a risk of falling. Fall protection measures are required:

Vertical:

    From a fall height of 0 m, if it is possible to sink into materials (grain, water), and on traffic routes above water
    always at workplaces from 1 m fall height above ground level
    at construction works and accesses from a fall height of 2 m onwards

horizontally:

    from 2 m distance to the edge of the fall
